Without a really powerful zoom lens on our camera, our bird pictures were harder to get.
These are pied crows – hanging out at one of the farm stalls – roadside stops with a cafe, food and crafts to purchase and , of course, bathrooms!
Never did identify this brilliant blue character with the orange eye.
These two below are a Francolin – which comes in four varieties, not that we could figure that out. It is about the size of a chicken. This one was at the Porter Botanical Garden.
And this was a hawk at Addo Elephant Park.
The guys below had long pink legs and behaved like killdeer.
Below: Blue Cranes are the national bird of South Africa Both the Xhosa and Zulu tribes in Africa revere the Blue Crane. Zulu royalty were the only ones allowed to wear Blue Crane feathers, and Xhosa warriors were only allowed to wear Blue Crane feathers into battle.
